One of our favorite places. We lived in Okinawa so we recognize the deco and know the food. Normally the service is perfect, but tonight our server wasn't quite up to par but will still go no matter. The sushi chef is Japanese and just the absolute best!!!

I always get the katsu curry.. it's so good. Comes on a pile of rice with a side of lettuce and an orange. The flavor is rich and savory. The pork is fried perfectly and still easy to chew. The owners are amazing. They're always over friendly, like family friendly. I love coming here.

Simply extraordinary. We shared the Love Boat and it was more than we could finish, but the freshness, taste, and quality were superb. The table service was fast and friendly and the owner checked in on our table to make sure everything was perfect. We loved this place and will surely return again when in the area.

Honestly the best sushi I've ever had! The fish is fresh, the atmosphere is so nice, and the owners are very kind. They have a lot of delicious cooked dishes as well! I absolutely love this place, and I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys sushi/Japanese food <3

The food was authentic and the staff were kind. Prices were fair, especially when you consider how far the fish had to travel. The owner was present and explained he was from Japan originally. That all said, I wasn’t wowed by the sushi. It was good but not great. I felt it had too much rice which detracted from the flavor. I loved the atmosphere and would still go back.

My husband and I had an amazing dinner here. Best sushi in town hands down. Our waitress Sarah was absolutely incredible, so down to earth and answered any questions we had and also made sure we were good. The owner, Miss Maggie came by the table to make sure everything was good, she's the sweetest lady. Staff is very attentive. Food is delicious and authentic. In SV what more could you ask for? Definitely worth a couple visits. Always sit towards the back, they have so many beautiful artifacts to look at.

We love going to Tanuki. We have eaten there several times. Service is always friendly. We especially enjoy the sushi rolls (although we do wish we could order sushi to go). They have delicious food and the Las Vegas roll is my favorite. The miso soup is always comforting and delicious as well.
